PERFECT FOR: Anyone who's mentally three tasks ahead of whatever they're actually doing right now.
Meditation is the practice you sit down for. Mindfulness is what you carry with you afterward.
Mindfulness is present-moment awareness without judgement, noticing what's actually happening right now, rather than being lost in thought about the past or future.
This is different from meditation. Meditation is the formal, seated practice; the training ground. Mindfulness is what that training builds toward: the quality of attention you bring to anything like eating, walking, listening, working, without needing to sit down or set a timer. You can be mindful doing the dishes. You can be mindful in a conversation. It's meditation applied to ordinary life.
Most of us spend far more time somewhere else: replaying, rehearsing, planning, than we do actually inhabiting the moment in front of us. Mindfulness is the practice of coming back.
In practice, building mindfulness looks like:
Noticing when you've mentally left the present moment, and returning. Doing one thing at a time, fully, instead of half-attending to several. Noticing sensory details in ordinary moments: texture, sound, temperature. Observing your thoughts without immediately following every one of them.
TL;DR: Mindfulness isn't a separate task on your list. It's the quality of attention you bring to everything already on it.
An Affirmation For You.
This moment doesn't need fixing. It just needs noticing.
